A Day for Prayer

After watching the devastation that went through Alabama and the rest of the South last night, I don’t feel much like talking about sports. Seems pretty trivial. I will give a “thumbs up” to those in the sporting community I saw on Twitter last night organizing aid efforts almost immediately after the storms hit.

I spend a lot of time here railing against the problems with sports, but perhaps the most positive thing about them is the sense of community that comes with being a fan. Even rivals aren’t indifferent as I witnessed many last night who’d rather have root canal than ever say, “Roll Tide” or “War Eagle” mobilizing and soliciting support for those who lost life and property.

If you’d like to help, here is a link to the American Red Cross.

Tomorrow, I’ll be back with analysis of tonight’s NFL Draft. For now, let’s be in prayer for those, who on Fall Saturdays may be rivals, but now are in need of our help.
